GetirJobs

What was the project?

GetirJobs started after buying Hemenİş, another job searching platform. Our purpose was to re-brand Hemenİş as Getir and create a cross functional platform where you can post jobs or post your profile to find a job.

How did I start?

I was assigned to this project after the design process started. When I joined the team, designers before us had already begun. After our team was assigned to continue to the project we worked on flows, checked for the user data from Hemenİş and continue building the app.

What did I learn?

There are lots of variables that needs to be considered. While working with multiple stakeholders that look at the project from different perspectives all of us needed to compromise for the sake of the project. I was also fortunate to work with an amazing team that understand each team member and value their opinions.

Challenge: Creating an app that already exists is a challenge because the app we wanted to create had to offer more to users under Getir. That’s why we created a first where you can be both the employee and the employer. The duality would live in the app constantly. This created challenges in writing the copy. My role: My responsibility on this project was to create copies that would avoid confusion and help people who are looking for a job or an employee. It was important that users would understand they could do both within GetirJobs without needing to create another profile for neither of them. Solution and my thought process: Looking at the benchmarks helped to individually identify the missing flows we had when transitioning Hemenİş to GetirJobs. However, benchmarks lack the vision that we had for our app and we needed to do user research to determine what we needed to do better and what was working. After the results of the research, we worked with the designer closely to fix the flows and the copies.
